“build a culture of learning together through collaboration, partnerships and life-giving relationships which enable all to flourish”
St. John’s School community recognises the value of engaging families in their child’s education. We are informed by Horizons of Hope and aim to “build a culture of learning together through collaboration, partnerships and life-giving relationships which enable all to flourish”.
We recognise that engagement in a child’s learning doesn’t just take place within the four walls of the school but around the family dinner table, the walk home from school, the bedtime chats. Staff nurture these connections through sharing ‘snapshots of the day’ in real time though Seesaw. Relationships are strengthened through school community events such as our welcome celebration, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Grandparents day. It is through the nurturing of the relationships an insight into the passions and interests within our community are discovered. This allows for authentic opportunities for family engagement in the learning of our whole school throughlines.
Learning Walks are offered for community members to witness and enter into dialogue and discussion around the learning and teaching within our school.
